How do I schedule my wedding with a Magistrate in Wake County?
Once you have received a marriage license from a Register of Deeds in North Carolina -- contact us via email at wakemagistrateweddings@nccourts.org Include your marriage license number (and the county where it was issued) and we can help you schedule your ceremony!
Can a Magistrate perform my off-site wedding?
No, Magistrates only perform weddings in Courtroom 901 at the Wake County Justice Center.
When can I get married?
Magistrates perform weddings Monday through Friday (except on state holidays) between the hours of 9:30am -11:30am and 1:30pm - 3:30pm. Your wedding must occur no more than 59 days after your Marriage License was issued.
Do I have to pay to get married by a Magistrate?
Yes, there is a $50 fee (cash only!) that must be paid prior to your ceremony.
Can I schedule my wedding before I have received my marriage license?
Unfortunately, no. We require couples to have a marriage license in hand prior to scheduling their wedding
